During an appearance at the Television Critics Association today, Luke Cage star Mike Colter seemed to suggest to ComicBook.com that we'll be seeing his character taking on the iconic yellow shirt and tiara look he sported in his early comic book appearances when his series comes to Netflix.

"You know when you see something and you know they're going to do it and you cant believe its real?" Colter mused when our own Ashley Robinson asked him about the wardrobe choice. "I'll leave it at that."

“Anything that's primarily Luke Cage we want to save for Luke Cage's series,” Colter said previously. “I'm not saying that you're going to see the yellow shirt, but if you're going to see it, it'll be in Luke Cage's series.”

Luke Cage premieres on Netflix in 2016.

It would be kinda cool if they did use his iconic 70's look for at least one episode.Obviously he's gonna have a more updated look for the series.

They actually showed Luke Cage with his yellow shirt in Jessica Jones first.

  1. Didn't he say he was actually pretty offended by the whole 70's tiara look?

Not the tiara itself, but the whole blaxploitation aspect in general bugged him. He only agreed to the role when he was assured it wouldn't be stereotypically black.

I'd say that the tiara is about as far away from "stereotypical black" as you can get.
