Nintendo's newest mythical Pokemon distribution is live. Multiple reports indicate that trainers in Europe can now download the mythical Pokemon Jirachi from their copies of Pokemon X/Y and Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire, with North American distribution beginning later today. Trainers can get their Jirachi by connecting to the Internet and using the "Mystery Gift" function on their Pokemon game. Players can download one Jirachi per Pokemon game. This is the first time Jirachi has been available in the US since 2010.

Jirachi, known as the Wish Pokemon, was one of two mythical Pokemon to first appear in Pokemon's Generation III games. Originally, players could get a Jirachi by transferring the Pokemon from a bonus disc that came with the GameCube game Pokemon to their copy of Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire. A Psychic/Steel type, Jirachi can grant wishes, but only when it wakes up once every thousand years. Jirachi has its own signature move: Doom Desire, which does a devestating amount of damage two turns after the move is used. This Jirachi comes at Level 100 with three moves: Wish, Confusion and Rest.

Jirachi is the third mythical Pokemon to be distributed as part of Pokemon's 20th anniversary celebration. Nintendo previously distributed Mew and Celebi, the mythical Pokemon from Generation I and Generation II respectively. Pokemon is distributing one mythical Pokemon per month as part of its year long anniversary celebration. Trainers can receive Jirachi through April 24, so get yours today!
