Wrestling legend Sting was the first inductee in the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2016, and the man behind the facepaint and mystique, Steve Borden, had an announcement of his own.

"On this very night, at this very moment, I'm going to finish my career under the WWE umbrella and I'm so proud of that. I am officially going to retire tonight."

While sporadic chants of "one more match" started, the crowd gave Sting a standing ovation. He donned the sunglasses and trademark black baseball bat as the crowd chanted "thank you, Sting" and reassured this isn't the last you've seen of him.

"I want you to know this isn't goodbye, this is a see you later."

With his patented crow call and finger pointing to the audience, Borden posed for cameras for a few moments before the ceremony ended.

It was rumored back last month that Sting was retiring from professional wrestling as he was suffering from the same injury that caused Edge's retirement in 2011. While Sting's WWE career isn't what he'll be defined by, the fact he had the chance to close the curtain on a 30-year legacy on his own terms is the important thing to take away.
