The Street Fighter video game franchise boasts one of the most diverse cast of characters in video games, with fighters from across the globe. However, a mystery involving two of the game's characters has now been solved after 25 years. Capcom recently released the names of two characters shown fighting at the start of Street Fighter 2. Neither of the two characters, who are literally fighting in the street surrounded by a crowd, were playable characters in Street Fighter 2 or one of the subsequent games.

According to Capcom, the characters' names are Max and Scott. Scott (the white dude in a t-shirt) is a former boxer turned bar bouncer while Max (the shirtless black character) is an MMA fighter who often gets in trouble due to his gambling tendencies. Previously, most Street Fighter players assumed the two characters were Mike and Joe, two NPC players from the original Street Fighter game.

Capcom revealed updated designs for both characters' on their Japanese website, along with some random facts and statistics about each characters. It's unclear why Capcom revealed the new info, as neither characters are available to play in Street Fighter 5, although it's always possible the characters could appear in upcoming DLC for the game.
