Nintendo released new details on Pokemon GO and the Pokemon Go+ device today at E3. The Pokemon GO+ is a device that allows players to play Pokemon GO, the upcoming augmented reality mobile app, without having their phone on. Per Nintendo, the purpose of the Pokemon GO+ device is to keep players moving and to allow players to enjoy their adventures without having their eyes on a smart phone. During a live presentation with developers of the game, the company revealed that the Pokemon GO+ device will be available at the end of July, seemingly confirming that Pokemon GO will go live sometime in the next 45 days.

The presentation also revealed exactly how the Pokemon GO+ will work. The device will connect to phones via BlueTooth and will alert players when a Pokemon is near by flashing a green LED light. By pushing a button on the Pokemon GO+, players can throw a PokeBall, which may or may not catch the Pokemon. Different LED light colors will alert players whether or not they catch the Pokemon. Players can also collect items with the Pokemon GO+ device.

The device will cost $34.99 and will be available at retail stores. The Pokemon GO app will actually direct players to physical stores where they can purchase a Pokemon GO+ device.
