Pokemon GO Server Issues

Dangit people, this is why we can't have nice things!

Actually, it doesn't have anything to do with fans really. Pokemon GO has already become incredibly popular, despite the fact that it is only technically released in Australia and Japan.

With so many Pokemon out there to be caught, it was only a matter of time until the server just couldn't take it anymore, though you figured it wouldn't be the first day. The technical demands of Augmented Reality and GPS based gameplay make this something to be expected, however, and the service is likely to undergo more growing pains throughout its early life cycle.

The mobile game is already creating a stir locally as well, with people coming upon Pokemon in the weirdest places, including Police stations as it turns out.

We'll let you know the app is back up and running. If you haven't had the chance to get in on the fun, you can head here to see how to play the game outside of Australia and Japan.
