Two Canadian Pokemon Go players were detained by the US Border Patrol after crossing the border while playing the popular mobile game. The two teenagers accidentally wandered into Montana while searching for Pokemon, drawing the ire of US officials.

The two teens were taken into custody and were released after contacting their mother, who was nearby on the Canadian side. The US Border Patrol declined to release the teenagers' names or how far they had ventured into the United States.

The teens were found near Sweet Grass, Montana, a small town on the US/Canada border. Sweet Grass is adjacent to Bouts, Alberta, a similarly small town on the Canadian side of the border.

Pokemon Go was released in Canada last weekend, leading Canadian players to desperately try and catch up with their American counterparts, who got the game over a week before them. Pokemon Go players have previously found themselves in odd predicaments because of the game, whether its finding dead bodies or playing the game in cemeteries.
