If you are a fan of horror, then you will no doubt be familiar with The Ring. The 2002 remake was based off a cult Japanese horror film from 1998, and the adaptation brought the story back to the forefront of pop culture. The terrifying movie was praised by critics and fans thanks to Gore Verbinski’s direction and Naomi Watts’ performance. A sequel followed in 2005 known as The Ring Two, and a third installment is set to debut this year. Now, fans have received a new trailer for Rings, and it brings back the franchise’s iconic baddie.
That’s right; Samara is back, and she is looking creepier than ever.
“She does not forget. Samara is back with a new poster,” Paramount teased in a recent press release which contained a new poster for The Rings. “First you watch it. Then you die.”
Fans of the iconic horror franchise has been waiting for some time to see its latest installment. While The Rings Two debuted with less-than-stellar reviews, director Javier Gutierrez has stressed that Samara’s return will make fans excited. While Naomi Watts will not be part of Rings, Matilda Lutz will take over her mantle with ease. The actress will play the lead Julia, and the film will follow her as she and her boyfriend Holt watch Samara’s cursed film and become targets. However, this time around, the deadly baddie has some bigger plans in mind.
