Out of all of the announcements made today by Funko at the NY Toy Fair, one is sure to excite literary fans.
The dark fantasy western story was published across eight different novels between 1998 and 2004. The series follows Roland Deschain, known as the Gunslinger, and his journey through a dramatically-changing universe. After years of waiting, a film adaptation will finally be released on July 28th, 2017.
Funko will make two pops based on the film, one of the Gunslinger (played by Idris Elba), and of his antagonist, the Man in Black (played by Matthew McConaughey).
There is no word as to when these pops will hit shelves, but it's safe to assume it will be a month or two before the film's release. Whether you're a hardcore fan of the book series, or you're just excited for the film, you should definitely be on the lookout for these pops.

Located in the fey region of End-World, amid a sea of singing red roses, the Dark Tower is the nexus point of the time-space continuum. It is the heart of all worlds, but it is also under threat. Someone, or something, is using the evil technology of the Great Old Ones to destroy it."
