Into the valley of the comic book store rode the 600. The 600th issues of Amazing Spider-Man and The Incredible Hulk that is! With Doctor Octopus, Daredevil, a wedding and more, Marvel promises great and thrilling reading for fans of the series and those just interested in this milestone issue! Same goes for the Hulk, except the action involves Red Hulk, Green Hulk AND Spidey! Springing from Immortal Iron Fist comes Immortal Weapons, five issue limited series! Also airing this week is another installment in the Halo franchise with Halo: Helljumper, ushering in a new story and new creative team for this video game franchise.

Strange times are upon this as we begin the final days of July! This week sees the debut of Emily the Strange: The 13th Hour #1, a new series centered around the world's strangest thirteen year old from writer/creator Rob Reger and artist Buzz Parker. Dark Horse Comics is behind the release, and the issue will be a must-have for fans of the series as the character begins to explore more of her origin and life. Dethklok vs. The Goon will come out Wednesday, with your choice of cover by Eric Powell or Jon Schnepp! Two great works in one book!

DC thickens the reading stack with several trade paperback releases this week. Rogues' Revenge, from the pages of Final Crisis, Showcase Presents: Batman vol. 4, Absolute New Frontier and The Superman Chronicles 7 all see release! Add to that the second issue of the newest Batman spinoff, Gotham City Sirens and the second issue of Blackest Night: Tales of the Corps and you've got two other great stories to add to your reading! Blackest Night continues to plug along, this week in the pages of Green Lantern #44. Green Lantern and the Flash find themselves staring down an unlikely foe in many ways, the Martian Manhunter!

Our friends at Image Comics have some goodies in store this week as well, as Youngblood #9 kicks off First Strike, featuring an appearance by honorary comic book hero himself, President Barack Obama! Also from Image is Spawn Origins vol. 2, a collection of stories from some of the earliest pages of the Todd McFarlane's hero's beginnings. Big things are planned with the Robert Kirkman penned Invincible #64, as the Conquest story concludes with a casualty! Looks like that's the big stuff for this week kids! Go out and read some of them there funny books!
