Comic book fans all remember fondly the events of House of M, when Scarlet Witch declared “No more mutants” and threw the world of the X-Men family of comics into turmoil for years.e X-Men family of comics into turmoil for years. Well, as Avengers vs. X-Men enters its second act, the worm has apparently turned and Marvel is teasing “No More Avengers” in an image meant to tease the series’ fifth and sixth issues.
Saying that “Act Two begins” with issue six, the solicitation text suggests that whatever happens, it’s a result of the previously-untapped power of the Phoenix Force, which has been seen in other tie-in issues to have an impact on the powers and backstories of Avengers like Captain Marvel and Iron Fist.
If, as it seems to be implied, the Phoenix Force manages to expel or depower the Avengers completely, it would likely throw the Marvel Universe–where Captain America is hero-worshiped but most people are deeply suspicious of mutants–into a fair amount of turmoil.
