Fans who want to get their hands on The Amazing Spider-Man, complete with special features, early can do so today by ordering the movie from iTunes, where Sony has effectively released the film digital-first.
“Get the early digital release of The Amazing Spider-Man in stunning HD today,” said an e-mail sent out by iTunes. “This new imagining of one of the world’s most popular superheroes stars Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy. This action-packed, non-stop thrill ride comes with iTunes Extras, which includes over 90 minutes of making-of featurettes, stunt rehearsals, deleted scenes, and more.”
Unlikely to be included is the filmmakers’ commentary track, in which director Marc Webb and others reveal some small but tantalizing details about the film’s upcoming sequels.
