In an interview with MTV Geek, Pacific Rim director Guillermo del Toro confirmed rumors simmering for the last two weeks or so that he is seriously considering taking a run at a Justice League Dark-style DC Entertainment supernatural team-up movie tentatively titled Heaven Sent. "I'm not involved in Justice League," del Toro told the site. "I am discussing…I've been discussing with the fans and I've been very, very open about how much Swamp Thing was key when I was a kid. Comics in Mexico came on the first two days of the week. Around Tuesday and Wednesday I would go to the newsstand on my bicycle and I would get Swamp Thing every time it was available and I loved Jack Kirby's Demon. I love Constantine and all that. You know, I've been pursuing doing something with them for many, many years. Hopefully it'll come to pass. But we are still just discussing." Constantine, of course, has been the source of today's big comic book news, with his long-running Vertigo series cancelled and set to be replaced by a New 52 title named after the Keanu Reeves movie featuring the character. Some have speculated that rebranding Hellblazer as "Constantine" might indicate that enough time has passed for Warner Brothers to be interested in pursuing the character for another film; certainly if this movie were to get off the ground sooner than later, it could follow up the presumptive success of Justice League by branding it as JL: Dark, rather than retaining the Heaven Sent moniker. Should Justice League fail to materialize, or be a critical failure, it could keep the working title and remain a viable project.
