At one time, Matthew Vaughn was going to direct X-Men: Days of Future Past but he stepped away to either direct Mark Millar's Secret Service or Star Wars Episode 7. However, former X-Men director Bryan Singer quickly stepped in to take Matthew Vaughn's place. Now, the Coventry Telegraph is reporting that X-Men: Days of Future Past will begin filming in April 2013. Reportedly, the film was initially going to start shooting in January 2013, but whether due to the director change or some other reason appears to have been pushed back. Even though the filming start date might not be until April of next year, Bryan Singer himself has confirmed via Twitter that pre-production has already started. Singer tweeted, "Well here goes. Beginning full prep on X-Men: Days of Future Past. Very excited!" X-Men Days of Future Past is scheduled to be released on July 18, 2014.
