When Disney dropped the bombshell that they were acquiring Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion and would be releasing more Star Wars films, it seemed to catch everyone in the world by surprise. That is everyone in the world except all the people that are coming forward now to say they knew about it all along. For a movie that no one knew was happening, there certainly seem to be plenty of people with insight into potential plot lines now. Here are our five favorite rumored plot lines for Star Wars Episode 7. 5. It's Luke Skywalker On Another Plane Of Existence – This particular rumor actually got its start nearly thirty years ago, but has now resurfaced. In an interview with Maria Shriver, Mark Hamill talked about how Luke Skywalker would return in the final trilogy, but he would be returning on a different plane of existence or not as the same character. 4. It's A Middle-Aged Luke Skywalker – According to the author of an unauthorized biography on George Lucas, Star Wars Episode 7 will feature a Luke Skywalker in his late thirties or early forties. The author didn't think Mark Hamill would return for the role. 3. It's The Kids Of Luke Skywalker  – Timothy Zahn, who wrote the Star Wars sequel books, has some idea what he thinks Episode 7, 8, and 9 are about. Zahn told EW that the original plan called for them featuring Luke Skywalker's children. 2. It's A Brand New Story – Forget about Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Princess Leia. According to one source quoted by EOnline, Star Wars Episode 7 is a brand new story, which would seem to indicate brand new characters. 1. The Empire Was Not Destroyed – According to an anonymous source who was right about a new trilogy existing in the first place, the Empire was not completely destroyed at the end of Return of The Jedi. Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Princess Leia, C3PO and R2D2 will all return to battle the Empire again. Mark Hamill is reportedly definitely reprising his role. The new trilogy will follow the original trilogy in both tone and method.
