While everyone is speculating about what the plot will be for Star Wars Episodes 7, 8, and 9, it turns out the Mark Hamill has already spilled the beans. And we're not talking about recently, he apparently let the cat out of the bag almost thirty years ago. An old video featuring Maria Shriver interviewing Mark Hamill back in 1983 has started making the rounds online, because in it Mark Hamill talks about three Star Wars trilogies. In regards to Return of the Jedi, Hamill said, "It's the last one for everyone but the two robots. They're the only ones that go through the whole three trilogies, the nine stories." Shriver asked, "I've heard that you've been hired to come back as Luke Skywalker in the last Star Wars film eighteen years from now. Is that true?" Hamill replied, "In something like 2004 or something, but you see he's being very cagey, because it's either going to be on another plane of existence or not the same character, and I can't really tell you why without getting into sensitive material." While Mark Hamill wound up being wrong on the timeline of returning in 2004, his comment about the two robots being the only ones that go through the whole three trilogies could very well be correct. And if he's right about the robots, could he also be right about Luke Skywalker returning in another plane of existence?
