Courtesy of a new licensing video that appeared online briefly and was removed, Dread Central has something that will make a lot of movie fans very happy--concept art that appears to show the new RoboCop looking an awful lot like the old RoboCop, with a silver exoskeleton that wraps around that sleek, black look we've already seen. There's some conflict as to whether this will be RoboCop's "combat-ready" look or whether it'll appear in the film only briefly as an inside joke, but in any event the appearance of a more traditional RoboCop seems to be what most of our readers are clamoring for, as every time there's news on this new version of the film most of the comments are geared toward mocking the suit. Also pictured on the Dread Central article (and included below) are a closer look at the retro-chic silver headpiece for RoboCop and a vision of the ED-209 that eschews the sterile look of the officially-released art in favor of one that's colored for desert warfare. Which of those will be more representative of the final product in the film is anybody's guess. Jose Padilha will direct the film, which stars The Killing's Joel Kinnaman as Alex Murphy/RoboCop. Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman, Jay Baruchel, Michael Keaton, Michael Kenneth Williams, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Abbie Cornish, Aimee Garcia, and Jackie Earle Haley also star. RoboCop will be in theaters on February 7, 2014. Images Removed at request of Columbia Pictures
