According to a new casting notice purportedly for X-Men: Days of Future Past is looking for extras to be available starting next month for a film which takes place mostly in 1973. The casting notice, supposedly from Casting Quarters, cannot be found on either their website or their Twitter page with a simple search so it may have been removed. Comic Book Movie says that they were tipped to the casting notice by a Twitter user whose bio identifies herself as an associate producer. The notice identifies the film as HK Productions, but going by an alternate name is not unusual for films of this size to minimize onlookers during shooting in or near public areas. Iron Man 3 filmed under the name Caged, while The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is London Calling and Thor: The Dark World is Thursday Mourning. If it really is the same film, a sequel to X-Men: First Class, it would mean that Days of Future Past will take place just over ten years following the events of the first film. X-Men: First Class took place principally in 1962, and while the filmmakers had hoped to include a sequence dealing with the Kennedy assassination in late 1963, it was never filmed. The time lapse may allow for changes the filmmakers want to make, such as Professor Xavier being able to navigate his wheelchair without difficulty and the absence of certain characters who played major roles in the first film, such as Moira MacTaggart and Emma Frost, neither of whom are confirmed to appear in the next installment. X-Men: Days of Future Past is set for a release in July 2014.
