We can’t say if this is authentic or not, but the website TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles.com thinks they might have uncovered a promotional poster for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. According to the tip TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles.com received, the poster was touted as being the one used to promote the film at CinemaCon.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles poster features Donatello, Leonardo, Raphael and Michelangelo. The logo used on the poster features the full name “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” which is what is rumored to be the current title for the movie. However, Paramount has not responded to multiple inquiries asking for clarification on the title of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot.
There’s only one big problem with the poster. The tag line says “Lean, Green And On The Screen in 2013.” Of course, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles isn’t scheduled to arrive in theaters until 2014. However, there is a possible explanation. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot was originally scheduled to be released in Christmas 2013. This poster could possible have been an early prototype poster for when the movie was originally scheduled to be released in 2013.
It’s entirely possible that Paramount’s plan has always been to call the move Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and the Ninja Turtles title was all just a big misunderstanding. Michael Bay has said that he spoke incorrectly when he said the turtles were going to be aliens, so maybe someone spoke incorrectly on the Ninja Turtles title.
