Peter Parker: Spider-Man with inks by Klaus Janson

Peter Parker is back! Or, at least, with a title like this we assume he is. Maybe it's an "untold tales" kind of thing. In any event, best-selling author David Morrell, creator of Rambo and author of Captain America: The Chosen, tweeted nearly two weeks ago (Bleeding Cool just spotted it today) that a story he'd written for Marvel Comics will debut in October as the launch arc of a new series called Peter Parker: Spider-Man. "My SPIDER-MAN: FROST comic-book project comes out in October as the first 2 issues of a new comic book called PETER PARKER: SPIDER-MAN!" The writer said on June 21. Back in 2012, Morrell told fans a little about the story on his Facebook page: "I have good news about my SPIDER-MAN: FROST two-part comic-book project. After my CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE CHOSEN comic-book series was published in 2007, Marvel asked me to write a shorter one about SPIDER-MAN. The script was finished that year. Legendary artist Klaus Jansson illustrated the first issue but was then called away to work on various other series as artists became unavailable. I just received word that it looks as though 2013 will be the year for SPIDER-MAN: FROST if Klaus gores back to work on it as hoped in February. The project has a very realistic approach." It's probably safe to assume that Janson (best known for his work with Frank Miller in The Dark Knight Returns) finished up the story, although at present we can't see anything on his social media that confirms as much. ComicBook.com have put an inquiry out to Marvel, but it is unlikely to be returned on a holiday, and before Marvel was presumably prepared to announce the project.
