Doctor Strange Movie

As we've reported in the past, we've heard from reliable sources that Doctor Strange is one of the characters that Marvel Studios is actively moving forward with. Now, the most reliable source of all has confirmed that a Doctor Strange movie is in active development. In an interview with Movies.com, Marvel Studios President of Production Kevin Feige said, "Doc Strange, as I've been saying for years, is a movie I believe we should make -- we're just figuring out how to make it a great movie. It is in active development right now." So when will the Doctor Strange movie be released? Feige appears to be keeping it secret. "Whether that's one of the movies we announce for 2016 or 2017, we have to see," said Feige. "I think it'll be the middle of next year before we announce officially what the post Ant-Man films will be. Maybe... stuff might happen before that. It's too early to tell." In the past, our sources (as well as the sources at a number of other websites) have indicated that Doctor Strange is one of the movies that will be announced for 2016 or 2017. So why is Marvel Studios holding off on an official release date announcement? It's likely because Marvel Studios plans can sometimes change. As we've seen with Ant-Man, Marvel Studios is willing to wait for whoever they believe is the right director for a project, so if the director they want for Doctor Strange isn't available, it could get shuffled to a later year. Marvel Studios probably wants to have all the key elements in place before they officially announce the release date.
