Fans have been hoping for a return to Twin Peaks for years, and usually Mark Frost is the one who's eager to tell them everything is still on the table, while his co-creator David Lynch is the one pumping the brakes. On the heels of yesterday's news that a new promo--presumably for the as-yet-unannounced Twin Peaks Blu-ray box set--would be shooting with Lynch behind the camera, it's Frost who has stepped up to say that, no, it isn't. Linking to one of the handful of places that reprinted the casting notice looking for a gorgeous, busty waitress, Frost tweeted, "Another strange baseless rumor." The casting notice itself was pulled down almost immediately after people started to take notice of it the other day, and there was some speculation that if there really was a shoot going on, it was unlikely that Lynch and Frost would have wanted it announced to the world in that way. There's a slight possibility that's still the case, and that Frost is simply trying to put the genie back in the bottle, but that seems less likely than the casting agency having been the subject (or culprit?) of a prank. The casting agency that originally sent out the notice has not commented on the notice, or why it was pulled. For now, it appears as though the rumored promo that was scheduled to be shooting next week, won't be--but of course expect lots of eyes to be on all the key players, especially Lynch, if they show up in public at all next week.
