According to The Wrap and a poll of 5,000 viewers taken by MovieTickets.com, Transformers: Age of Extinction and Amazing Spider-Man 2 had the most effective and memorable trailers during Super Bowl XLVIII. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 fared best, with 77 percent of viewers saying they remembered the ad and 31 percent saying it was the most effective ad. Transformers: Age of Extinction trailed closely behind with 75 percent of viewers remembering the trailer and 25 percent saying it was the most effective ad. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 pulled off a bit of an upset, because a poll of the most anticipated super bowl trailers conducted by Fandango prior to the game had Transformers: Age of Extinction at the top. Interestingly, there was a gender disparity between the two films. Male viewers remembered Transformers slightly better than Spider-Man, with 81 percent remembering the former and 80 percent remembering the latter. On the other side, 71 percent of female viewers remember Amazing Spider-man, while only 68 percent remembered Transformers. Rounding out the top four in the poll were Need for Speed, remembered by 70 percent and called most effective by 17 percent, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, remembered by 48 percent and called most effective by 27 percent.
