While Hugh Jackman has said that recasting Wolverine is inevitable, it seems at least director James Mangold is keen to follow-up 2013's The Wolverine sooner than later. In fact, he told fans via Twitter, the plan is currently to film a sequel right after X-Men: Apocalypse. Does such a short timeline mean Hugh Jackman will return to reprise the role one more time? Obviously nothing is guaranteed until Jackman (whose contract runs out after Days of Future Past does or does not make a statement. Still, the idea of keeping the previous director and shooting something so soon after the release of The Wolverine certainly suggests that the plan would be for Jackman to stick around.
