Hugh Jackman as Wolverine

There have been murmurs, recently, about the fact that Hugh Jackman can't go on playing Wolverine forever. Jackman has already played the role seven times and will eventually need to be replaced. In an interview with Yahoo, Jackman was asked who he thought would make a good replacement for him once he puts down the claws. After jokingly suggesting Will Farrell, Jackman said that the late, fellow Australian, Heath Ledger would have done well in the role. "Originally, when I played it, when he was alive, God rest his soul, I thought Heath Ledger could be a good young version of him," explained Jackman. Jackman said that he knew he would be replaced eventually, but it would still be weird to see somebody else playing the part. "It would be a little weird," said Jackman. "I know it's going to happen." When asked if we would be returning for the next Wolverine solo movie, Jackman said, "There's a good chance." You can next see Hugh Jackman playing Wolverine in X-Men: Days of Future Past, in which the X-Men send Wolverine to the past in a desperate effort to change history and prevent an event that results in doom for both humans and mutants. X-Men: Days of Future Past comes to theaters May 23, 2014.
