As was expected, Maleficent was the big winner at the box office this weekend. Maleficent brought in $70 million, which was more than enough to put the film in first place for its opening weekend at the U.S. box office. Maleficent made a total of $170.6 million at the worldwide box office. X-Men: Days of Future Past dropped off 64% in its second weekend at the U.S. box office, which is about par for the course for summer blockbuster films. X-Men: Days of Future Past took in another $32.6 million at the U.S. box office, which was good enough for second place. X-Men: Days of Future Past has now made a total of $162 million at the U.S. box office, which makes the film the fifth highest grossing movie of the year so far at the U.S. box office. Seth MacFarlane's A Million Ways To Die In The West took third place at the U.S. box office, bringing in $17 million for it's opening weekend. Godzilla took fourth place with $12.2 million in its third weekend of release.
