Funko Reveals Pop Figures Based On Joss Whedon's Firefly

Firefly fans had something to be excited about when the first trailer for the upcoming Firefly MMO video game was released, along with the announcement that the entire original cast would be returning to lend their voices to the project.

On top of that, Funko has revealed a new line of Pop vinyl figures based on the characters from Joss Whedon's beloved cult classic television series and the Serenity movie (via CNET).

Available to preorder now via Entertainment Earth, Funko will release figures based on on Captain Malcolm Reynolds (Nathan Fillion), Jayne Cobb (Adam Baldwin), Kaylee Frye (Jewel Staite), Hoban "Wash" Washburn (Alan Tudyk), and Zoe Washburne (Gina Torres).

That's the entire original crew of the Serenity. No word yet on whether the ship's companion, Inara, or the passengers that set the events of the series in motion – Shepard Book and Simon and River Tam – will get figures in the future.

Firefly is the second of Joss Whedon's television series to be turned into figures by Funko, following their Buffy the Vampire Slayer series.
