While players were mostly looking forward to the new honor system in League of Legends, with such a massive transition, there were bound to be questions about the overhaul: What's the deal with honoring only one teammate, how can I level up faster, and what about all the old honors that I worked for with the previous system? These were just a couple of the questions that were tackled in the most recent edition of Ask Riot, this one being focused entirely around honor.

Though not the first question that was answered, one of the most-asked questions concerns honoring enemies. In the previous system, players could issue an "Honorable Opponent" award to an enemy who played well, was fun to lane against, or just behaved well in All Chat. That function isn't present with the news system, but that hasn't stopped players from asking for the option.

"Enemies can definitely be honorable too, but generally when you play League, you chat with your team much more than with the enemy team," Riot Simurgh from the Player Behavior team said about honoring opponents. "You have a better ability to judge how honorable players were on your team than the enemy team, so we wanted teammates to be the focal point of Honor."

Simurgh added that they're still looking into options that would allow players to recognize their opponents, but nothing is set in stone yet.

Concerning the discussion of giving out honors as opposed to receiving them, some players also wanted to know more about the decision to only allow one honor to be distributed per game. RiotBoourns summed this question up by saying that multiple honors were indeed an early option, but limiting it to one per person ultimately results in the honor decision being more impactful and faster-moving since it's a part of every post-game screen now.

But what about all those honors you've already collected? Riot Nakyle said that they still want to provide some sort of gift for players who accumulated quite a bit of honor and had to start over with the new system, though they aren't sure what that gift will be yet.

In a separate question about the honor rewards though, they added that they're looking to expand the loot options that drop from Honor Capsules, so players will have both the loot and a future gift to look forward to, though there's no word as to when those changes will be made.
