When it comes to death, the Marvel Cinematic Universe seems seems to be lacking. Characters like Agent Coulson died on the big-screen only to be revived elsewhere, but deaths like Quicksilver's still remain. With Avengers: Infinity War on the horizon, fans are wondering if the franchise's stakes are about to get higher. And, if one theory is right, then Thor: Ragnarok may just start the bloody trend.

If you've been paying attention to Thor: Ragnarok, then you know the sequel won't be all fun and games. The movie will follow Thor as he tries to keep Asgard from falling to the Goddess of Death. Trailers for the film have shown Thor getting his hammer handed to him by Hela, but the vixen's other victims appear to include at least one familiar face.

Last week, a new still image from the film was released, and it saw the return of Hogun. The character, who is one of the Warriors Three, is seen standing before a massive army of Asgardian soldiers. Hogun and his men are facing down Hela as she makes her approach, but fans quickly connected the picture to an image from Thor: Ragnarok's trailers.

After all, the film's first footage did show Hela making her assault on Asgard. In one of the reels, she is seen stepping down from a staircase littered with fallen Asgardian men. The stairs in question look a little too familiar to the ones Hogun is guarding, and it doesn't bode well for the hero.

At best, Hogun may be able to escape battle and flee once Hela begins her slaughter, but the Asgardian seems far too noble to run away. Hogun would be the first to die if he charges Hela first, and the rest of the Warriors Three could follow. If the trio try to protect Asgard in Thor's place once the prince is stripped down by Hela, they would become the goddess' next targets, and no one - not even Asgardians - can escape death.

Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on November 3rd.
