When Spider-Man swung into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the character left behind a lot of iconic members of his supporting cast who featured prominently in previous films.

But mounting evidence is pointing toward the Marvel Studios debut of Gwen Stacy in the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming, as more audition videos begin to surface showing actors vying for the role.

The latest video comes from actor Iris Haller, who reads the same lines featured in the previous audition. This most recent audition was posted to Vimeo, as well. The comments indicate that this is not an open casting, and that agents are handling the submissions for the role.

Haller's profile indicates she hails from Luxembourg, further indicating that the Gwen Stacy will be altered for the new film.

It was previously theorized that Gwen Stacy could be a foreign exchange student, transferring to Midtown after going to live with her father, a police captain in New York City.

It would not be the first time Gwen has appeared on the big screen, as both Emma Stone and Bryce Dallas Howard portrayed the character in the previous iterations of Spider-Man. But unlike those two versions, this one will continue to be set in the high school setting established in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Making Gwen Stacy a foreign exchange student is hardly the biggest change to the Spider-Man mythos in its big screen adaptation. The other romantic interest in the character's life Mary Jane has been altered in actor Zendaya's portrayal of the role, who goes as the witty nerd known as Michelle — or MJ to her friends — who would rather go protest than audition for a modeling gig like her comic book counterpart.

It remains to be seen what kind of alterations will be made to the MCU version of Gwen Stacy, but it is looking more and more likely that we'll find out when the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming finally premieres in 2019.

Spider-Man will next appear in Avengers: Infinity War, set to premiere in theaters May 4, 2018.
