There’s been a lot foreshadowing on The Walking Dead TV series of Glenn’s impending death from the infamous issue 100 of The Walking Dead, where Glenn had his head brutally beaten beyond recognition by Negan’s barbed wire covered baseball bat. Steven Yeun himself, who plays Glenn, even joked on Jimmy Kimmel Live that, for some reason, on TV Glenn just likes touching and picking up bats.

A lot of fans are true believers in hoping that Negan makes his entrance during tonight’s season finale. However, a lot has to happen before we meet the ruthless maniac if the show is going to follow it’s comic book source material. It seems pretty unlikely that Negan will show up in the remaining 90 minutes of season 5, but that does not, by any means, suggest that Glenn is safe.

As you know if you’re caught up on the show, Glenn has a new rival- Nicholas. You also know Nicholas has the gun that Rick left outside the walls, hidden. Conflict is at an all-time high in Alexandria after the feud between Rick and Pete which is yet to resolved. The finale will likely see a bit of a civil war within the Safe-Zone community and one of the headlining events will be Nicholas vs. Glenn.

Advantage goes to Nicholas. Glenn is obviously the more skilled survivor but the bottom line is Nicholas has a gun. If Glenn brings a bat to gun fight, he’s in big trouble. Maybe Nicholas is going to get pushed too far and use that gun to prove himself (mostly to himself) and settle the score with Glenn.

We also see Glenn crying in the preview for the finale. It’s unlikely that anything will happen to Maggie, considering she plays such an enormous role in the future according to the comics and has not been a focal point, as of late. Glenn may have won a fight against Nicholas and chosen to be the bigger man by letting him live, only to have Nicholas, a man who acts very irrationally and with cowardice, draw the gun and shoot Glenn.

Do you think Glenn is in danger in The Walking Dead’s season 5 finale? Which characters do you think are at risk?
