At a press junket to support the release of Pan on October 9, 2015, Warner Bros brought the stars of the film to New York to chat about the origin story. The studio also brought the origins of the origin story in the form of a standing exhibit near the ballroom of the Conrad Hotel, featuring the costumes and concept art behind the film.
The costumes for the main characters of Pan, Hook, Blackbeard, and Tiger Lily were on display, plus the nascent Mr. Smee. Behind and in-between them were shots of early sketches of the looks, plus rendered concept art of Neverland, the mystical world that is meant to reflect “the imagination of an 11 year-old,” as director Joe Wright explained it.
