While franchise star David Duchovny has already said as much, apparently there was still come confusion as to whether William B. Davis would return as the myterious (and, we thought, dead) Cigarette-Smoking Man in the forthcoming revival of FOX's The X-Files.

Well, no more doubts; Robbie Amell, who joined the cast of the reboot, told fans at Salt Lake Comic Con today that the series' most memorable villain is a sure thing.

"I don't know what's a secret, so I could get into a lot of trouble with this question," Amell joked. "I had a scene with Cigarette-Smoking man, so he is in it. I hope that doesn't get me in a huge..." and then he trailed off.

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprise their iconic roles as Agent Fox Mulder and Agent Dana Scully in the upcoming event series which will encompass a mixture of stand-alone investigative episodes and those that further the original show's seminal mythology. In the opening episode, Mulder and Scully take on a case of a possible alien abductee.

The all-new episodes will feature appearances by guest stars, including Joel McHale ("Community"), Robbie Amell ("The Flash"), Lauren Ambrose ("Dig," "Six Feet Under"), Annabeth Gish ("The Bridge"), Annet Mahendru ("The Americans"), Rhys Darby ("Flight of the Conchords"), Kumail Nanjiani ("Silicon Valley") and William B. Davis, who reprises his role as "Cigarette Smoking Man."
