If this week’s premiere of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD is any indication, this year will be all about the Inhumans. While most people are familiar with Marvel’s many mutants and other superpowered residents, the Inhumans number among Marvel’s more obscure characters. It also doesn’t help that Marvel’s probably saving the most recognizable Inhumans, the Royal Family, for the Inhumans movie scheduled in 2019. Still, there’s plenty of “second tier” Inhumans that Agents of SHIELD could introduce this season, each with cool powers and unique histories. Here’s five Inhumans from the comics we’d like to see this season:

Inferno
One of the central characters of Marvel’s current Inhumans saga, Inferno is a new Inhuman created after Black Bolt unleashed the Terrigen Mists during Marvel’s Infinity event. In the comics, Inferno gets recruited by both Lash (the monstrous Inhuman introduced in the last episode of Agents of SHIELD) and Queen Medusa and becomes involved in the power struggle involving the hundreds of new Inhumans created post-Infinity. With pyrokinetic abilities that exceed even those of the Human Torch, Inferno can transform his body into a volcanic rock type form that can regenerate after even otherwise fatal injuries. With Lash appearing in Agents of SHIELD, it makes sense to introduce another link to the newest Inhumans comics.
Dinu
Growing up in the secret Inhuman city of Attilan, Dinu was a popular and good looking youth well-liked by his friends and peers. That all changed when Dinu entered the Terrigen Mists, which hideously disfigured his face, forcing him to wear a gimp mask. Although the Terrigen Mists mutilated his body, the Inhuman Royal Family recognized Dinu’s powers and recruited him for the Royal Guard, marking him as one of the most powerful Inhumans in Attilan. We’ve yet to see the extent of Dinu’s powers are unknown, it’s rumored that just looking upon his face would cause instant death. With a mysterious power set and a slightly sinister appearance (American Horror Story established that gimp masks can look really scary in the right situations) Dinu would be a great fit for Agents of SHIELD.
Haechi
Another recently created Inhuman, Haechi is a member of the New Warriors, a group of (mainly) teen heroes formed after the High Evolutionary tried to wipe out all “genetic aberrations” from mankind. In addition to gaining a large horn on his forehead, the Terrigen Mists granted Haechi energy absorption powers and the ability to transform into a dragon-like monster. Haechi on Agents of SHIELD would give the show a more youthful element and add another character with really cool and weird abilities.
Seeker
If Agents of SHIELD wanted to tease the existence of the Inhuman Royal Family, the show could easily introduce Seeker, the Royal Family’s chief hunter and tracker. Seeker acts as a tracker and herald for the Royal Family, gathering Inhumans in exile and summoning them to return to the royal city of Attilan. He also secretly works as an agent of Maximus, the mad brother of the Inhuman king, Black Bolt, and has plotted against the Royal Family several times. With unparalleled tracking abilities and ties to more popular characters, Seeker is the perfect character to introduce the wider world of Inhumans to the Marvel television universe.
Lockjaw
Unlike the others on this list, Lockjaw is one of the most recognizable and popular characters from the Inhuman corner of the Marvel universe. Lockjaw is a giant dog with teleportation powers (similar to Gordon from Agents of SHIELD) and acts as a loyal agent for Black Bolt and the rest of the Royal Family. Bringing Lockjaw into the show would provide a clear link to the Royal Family without interfering with whatever plans Marvel Studios has for an Inhumans movie. While it seems weird to introduce a superpowered dog to a show about spies, Lockjaw would also instantly give Agents of SHIELD a level of buzz and excitement not seen since the show premiered a few years back. And let’s face it, who wouldn’t want to see Coulson or Fitz interact with a giant dog?
