The merc with a mouth took to Twitter to celebrate, revealing a photo of himself immersed in real tomatoes. Early on, the film managed to satisfy 100% of critics on the movie critiquing site, but now, with 103 reviews counted, the Marvel Comics/20th Century Fox film is sitting freshly at 81%.

If you’re not familiar with Rotten Tomatoes, an 81% means that 81% of site-approved critics submitted positive reviews for the film. Only 20 out of the 103 reviewers couldn’t find anything nice to say about Deadpool.
Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
Deadpool opens in theaters this weekend.
