This week’s episode of Game of Thrones, “The Door,” set the internet abuzz after the death of the beloved, innocent, fan favorite character Hodor. The outrage over the death has reached a point where showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff offered a “heartfelt apology” on last night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live.
From atop a literal pile of money, Weiss and Benioff apologized not for killing Hodor, but for all of the fans who will be shouting “Hodor” from now on when they want someone to “hold the door.”

“We’re sorry for all the idiots who will, from now on, be shouting ‘Hodor’ every time you go through a door,” Benioff says.
“We forgot how annoying people could be,” Weiss adds. “That’s our bad. Again, so, so sorry. People are the worst.”
