One of Gotham City’s hidden locations has been more or less turned into a high-tech, completely secret Batcave for Justice League: the Gotham City Iron Works.

The location was built in 1929 and served as a place to build airplanes among other large scale products of the sort. It has since been long abandoned and renovated by Bruce Wayne. Bruce is using the hideout as a place to research fellow heroes, with monitors looping the surveillance footage of Aquaman, The Flash, and Cyborg planted on a desk in the corner, accompanied by Wayne Aerospace documents. The location is complete with a small kitchen area, the new and improved Batmobile, a Honda bike with a red stripe (which stands out as it is backed by the only red toolbox in the place) and a new car for Bruce Wayne which is for now being kept under wraps (literally). 2000 pound missiles were stored in the front and jet engines were placed all around the set with multiple monitors showing off the science behind them.

Above the set was a giant green screened structure which serves as shadows of the Flying Fox for the director of photography to accurately shoot as though the new Justice League Troopcarrier were suspended above the set. Not one, but three Flying Foxes will be present in the Gotham City Iron Works spot.

Production designer Patrick Tatopoulos describes the Flying Fox as a “Batmobile with wings,” and says it is the size of a B-52 but moves like a Thunderbird.

While there were no signs of other heroes on the set shown off, concept art showed us that the League (minus Superman) will assemble here at some point.

Director Zack Snyder said that “almost everyone” has been on set together when asked if the entire Justice League has assembled yet. He described the scene as “planning.” Next to him? Concept art of Cyborg, The Flash, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman standing across from Batman in the Gotham Iron Works facility. We can only assume that the team will come together in this location to plan their next move which may be an attempt to revive Superman who was notably absent from the entire day.

In the back of the set was a warning sign for pyrotechnics. Perhaps we should expect something to go down when the team assembles here.

Justice League is set for release November 17, 2017.
