Arrow's Stephen Amell Wants To Compete On American Ninja Warrior

In order to play a superhero on The CW's Arrow, Stephen Amell has to keep his body in tip-top shape all year round. But does that mean he has what it takes to complete a multi-staged, heart-racing obstacle course on the NBC television series American Ninja Warrior?

After flirting with appearing on the show several times and being encouraged by the fine folks at Salt Lake City Comic-Con, Amell now believes he is ready to take on that challenge.

"Ok... It happened. The people of Salt Lake City and the great State of Utah pushed me over the edge," Amell posted today on his official Facebook page. "NBC American Ninja Warrior - in 2017, I would like to compete on your show."

As mentioned above, this isn't the first time Amell has brought up the show. Back in 2014, while appearing on the Nerd HQ panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Amell revealed that America Ninja Warrior had reached out to his manager, asking if the chiseled-jaw actor would like to compete. At that time, due to a lack of free-time to put in the necessary amount of training, Amell turned down the opportunity, but he did leave the door open.

By the way, if Amell needs any tips on conquering the American Ninja Warrior course, he can always reach out to Jessie Graff, Melissa Benoist's personal stuntwoman on Supergirl. She recently became the first woman to complete the Stage 1 course, finishing it in an impressive 12 minutes and 39 seconds. This means, of course, that Graff is also the first woman to move onto round 2 of the National Finals.
