In the days after President Kennedy was assassinated in November of 1963, his wife Jacqueline Kennedy sat down for an interview with LIFE magazine. She explained that she could not get one specific line from one of her favorite songs out of her head.

The line was: "Don't let it be forgot, that once there was a spot, for one brief shining moment that was known as Camelot."

The lyrics were from a song in the 1960 musical Camelot. At the time, and even 50 years later, the words would go on to be associated with JFK's presidency.

The storyline of the movie starring Natalie Portman revolves around the days following the assassination when Jackie Kennedy was forced to reflect upon her life with the 35th president of the United States. While she is a public figure known for her elegance, the trailer teases intense drama that accompanied the grief and desperation of the situation.

The majority of the trailer is light on dialogue. However, Portman does have one line that hints at the film's take on the image of Kennedy's America. "People like to believe in fairy tales," Portman's Jackie Kennedy states. "Don't let it be forgot that for one brief, shining moment, there was Camelot.

Last month, the film received rave reviews after making its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival. Natalie Portman's performance received vast praise by critics for her portrayal of the dignified first lady.

Jackie was directed by Pablo Larrain (No, The Club, Tony Manero) with the screenplay penned by Noah Oppenheim (The Buried Life, Today).

The cast includes: Natalie Portman (Jacqueline Kennedy), Peter Sarsgaard (Robert Kennedy), Billy Crudup (The Journalist), Greta Gerwig (Nancy Tuckerman), John Hurt (The Priest), John Carroll Lynch (Lyndon Baines Johnson), Caspar Phillipson (John F. Kennedy), and many others.

Jackie will be making a limit opened on December 2nd, but will be hitting theaters everywhere on December 9.
