Actor Kim Coates (Sons of Anarchy) will be making his debut as the seemingly immortal Officer Downe later this year, and now fans can see him in action in the film’s newly released first trailer.

The film is in many ways the comic come to life, which is exactly what Officer Downe creators Joe Casey and Chris Burnham wanted from director Shawn Crahan. The film is outlandish and action packed, with subtlety nowhere in sight. In essence, it’s about perfect.

ComicBook.com’s Russ Burlingame previously spoke to Casey about the film, and how the comic to film translation was going.

“For anyone who has actually read the original comic book, I think they’ll be happy with how true we remained to the source material. It literally is the comic book that Burnham and I created come to life onscreen. I mean, a film like this isn’t going to cure cancer or anything like that. Clearly, we’re not expecting to win Oscars here. It’s just not that kind of movie.”

“But it is one helluva roller coaster ride, unlike any comic book-based movie that’s ever existed before. If anything, our aspirations are simply to blow the goddamn roof off whatever theatre it ends up being shown in.”

Based on the Man of Action/Image Comics original graphic novel created by Joe Casey and Chris Burnham, written by Joe Casey, about a police officer who can’t be stopped by death so he returns to the streets time and time again to fight crime.

Officer Downe stars Sam Witwer (Burnham), Lauren Luna-Velez (Police Chief Berringer), Kim Coates (Officer Downe), Lindsay Pulsipher (Miss Tiger), Ren Wilson (Officer Carter), Mark Neveldine (Hazmat Johnny), Tyler Ross (Officer Gable), Meadow Williams (Mother Supreme), Tracy Vilar (Officer Hanso), Erica Lynne Arden (Telekinetic Girl), and Shad Gaspard (Brick).

Officer Downe hits theaters on November 18.
