A Digital Billboard for 20th Century Fox's War for the Planet of the Apes has been released online, and is on display in New York's Times Square this weekend in conjunction with New York Comic Con.

The teaser shows a silhouette of Caeser being formed by what looks like either snow or the ashes of a nuclear winter and then disappearing in the wind as some of his most ominous lines from previous Planet of the Apes movies are heard in voiceover.

New footage from War for the Planet of the Apes is expected to debut this weekend at New York Comic Con.

According to the recently released synopsis for War for the Planet of the Apes, in War for the Planet of the Apes, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise (following Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.

War for the Planet of the Apes is directed Matt Reeves, from a screenplay Reeves, co-wrote with Matt Bomback. War for the Planet of the Apes stars Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, Gabriel Chavarria, and Judy Greer.

Principal photography on War for the Planet of the Apes began Oct. 15, 2015, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

War for the Planet of the Apes opens in theaters on July 14, 2017.
