If you move fast, you can be one of the first 100,000 people to “like” the Facebook page of controversial blockbuster director Zack Snyder, who finally established an official presence on the social media network this week.

Snyder has so far directed four comic book adaptations — 300, Watchmen, Man of Steel, and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice — and is currently at work on Justice League. He was rumored to have been committed to another Justice League film after this one, but for now, he’s focused on turning around the general feeling that the DC movie universe “isn’t working.”
One of the biggest ways he’s used to “get the word out” on things is to share photos, video, and even some viral content on his Twitter page, which has almost 500,000 followers — but for Facebook thus far, it’s been up to Ben Affleck or the official studio accounts to do much of the heavy lifting.
Besides his DC work, Snyder directed a fan-favorite remake of Dawn of the Dead as well as some original material in the form of Sucker Punch and the animated Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole.
Snyder’s stark style, his use of slow-motion and desaturated color all make him one of the most instantly-recognizable filmmakers in the industry, although they’ve also led to some of the biggest criticisms against him — especially when he works with Superman, a character who many fans feel should “never” look like a Zack Snyder film.
So far, Snyder hasn’t posted anything beyond a header graphic and profile photo, but he’s got around 85,000 likes — don’t be too surprised if this is where they debut something big in the not-too-distant future.
