Power Rangers Star Dacre Montgomery Joins Stranger Things Season 2 Cast

EW reports, Dacre Montgomery, the 21-year-old actor starring as Jason/Red Ranger in the upcoming Power Rangers movie, and American Odyssey actress Sadie Sink have landed major roles in the second season of Netflix's Stranger Things.

• Sink will play "Max, a tough and confident girl whose appearance, behavior and pursuits seem more typical of boys than of girls in this era. She has a complicated history and is generally suspicious of those around her."
• Montgomery will play "Billy, Max's hyper-confident, and edgy older step-brother. He steals girlfriends away from their boyfriends, is great at drinking games, and drives a black Camaro. But lurking under his apparent charisma, is a violent and unpredictable nature."

Furthermore, Joe Keery, who plays Nancy Wheeler's super-cool boyfriend Steve Harrington, and Noah Schnapp, the young actor that played the lost-and-found Will Byers, were upgraded to regular cast members this season.

A love letter to the supernatural classics of the 80's, Stranger Things is the story of a young boy who vanishes into thin air. As friends, family and local police search for answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl.

Stranger Things stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Natalia Dyer, Cara Buono, Charlie Heaton, and Matthew Modine.

Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer (Wayward Pines, Hidden) serve as writer, directors and co-showrunners of the series, and are executive producers along with Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen via their 21 Laps entertainment banner (The Spectacular Now, Night At The Museum, Real Steel, Date Night). Shawn Levy also serves as director.

Season 2 of Netflix's original series Stranger Things will debut in 2017 and consist of 9 episodes.
