Lady Gaga’s character, the Woods Witch, is actually “the Original Supreme,” according to a TVLine interview with Ryan Murphy. For those struggling to remember, the name Supreme was given to the head witch in Coven.

At this point, we are not sure what more we can expect to learn from Lady Gaga’s character on this season of AHS considering that the show is expected to have a twist of epic proportions on Wednesday’s Chapter Six episode. However, from what we can tell from the Ryan Murphy interview, the original Supreme will play a bigger role in the seasons to come. He said that he and the producers have plans to bring the character back in a future AHS season that is going to “return to Coven.”

While on the topic of Chapter Six, it is supposedly going to be one of the most memorable episodes of the series to date. Ryan Murphy has been saying all season long to expect a wild twist in this week’s episode, and he went on to confirm those statements once again on Tuesday morning during an interview with EW.

“It’s the biggest plot twist we’ve ever done on the show,” said Murphy. “The season was sort of written as if the season was two different shows. Something happens where half the cast is revealed to be playing and doing something absolutely different than you’ve seen in the first five. There’s a startling announcement at the end of act 3 that resets the rest of the season up until episode 10.”

In addition to this season’s characters being connected to Coven, Murphy also said, “Next year, we will be going back to some Freak Show characters, deeper histories and mythologies,” he said. “So we’re sort of still exploring season 4 in season 7.”

For all the AHS fans out there that are weary of the secrecy and misdirects by Murphy and company, the Emmy award-winning director revealed that the theme for the next season of the series will not be shrouded in mystery.

“We’re going to announce [the premise] in the spring,” he said. “We’re not doing a secrecy thing, but [next season] does have a big hook behind it.”

How do you think Lady Gaga’s Woods Witch character will tie into future seasons of American Horror Story?
