Being a superhero is complicated. If you're not worried about keeping your identity a seret, then you probably have an arch-nemesis to facedown or a (ex)lover to answer to. When it comes to The CW's Arrow, Oliver Queen is struggling with all the above as he juggles vigilantism with a political career. And, soon, the quiver-wearing hero will learn his ex has got herself a new boyfriend.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Oliver will learn about Felicity's boyfriend in the fifth episode of Season Five. Marc Guggenheim, executive producer on Arrow, told the site that "no secrets stay secret on Arrow forever."

"Oliver's going to find out about Felicity's boyfriend in 505. Because I'm spoiling that, I'm not going to spoil when Felicity's boyfriend finds out that Felicity is working with Arrow."

Naturally, fans aren't expecting Oliver to react well to the revelation. After all, the hero fell head-over-heels for Felicity and enjoyed a passionate romance before everything promptly fell apart last season. The duo split after lies and paranoia pushed them away from one another, and Felicity has since found herself in the arms of another.

Fans met Felicity's boyfriend when Season Five premiered earlier this month. The man is named Malone, and he works as a detective for the Star City Police Department. So far, fans don't know too much about the character, but they do believe he's not a corrupt cop. They also expect Malone's job will pit him against Green Arrow at some point this season, allowing the two to duke it out for Felicity and her affection.

This quote from Guggenheim isn't the first he's given about Oliver and his reaction to Felicity's taken status. Not long ago, he stressed that the tech whiz wasn't keeping Detective Malone a secret from Oliver; Rather, he's just not made aware of their relationship.

Before Arrow returned for Season Five, Stephen Amell talked about his character's reaction to the relationship. "I think he'll be fine," the actor joked. "I think he'll be fine. He will hug a pillow, much like I'm hugging a pillow right now, but he'll do it in private."

Amell continued and joked about the Green Arrow even killing Detective Malone. "He got shot with an arrow in the head? Don't look at me," he said. Of course, there's always a chance that might actually happen in Arrow - fans never know what might come out of Oliver's quiver.

As for whether aeconciliation is in the works for Oliver and Felicity, fans will just have to wait and see. Showrunner Wendy Mericle did say the couple's hiatus has left them both in "crisis mode."

"Oliver's got two really big jobs, and [Felicity] is spinning out about Havenrock," Wendy said. "Until they've gotten some clarity for themselves, there's not much room for the relationship side of things."

Arrow airs on The CW on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
