The internet has spoken and Charlie Sheen has answered. Now that the Cleveland Indians are officially gong to the 2016 World Series, fans of the 1989 movie Major League are calling for Charlie Sheen to throw the first pitch.

"Major League continues to be the gift that keeps on giving!" Sheen responded to the social media outcry. "If called upon, I'd be honored."

Back in 1989, Sheen starred as rookie pitcher Ricky "Wild Thing" Vaugh, who helped his fictional Cleveland Indians team make it all the way to the World Series. The movie focused around the fictional owner of the team who hoped to sell the team and move it to Miami, but her plan is thwarted when the worst players in the league win it all.

This year, the real Cleveland Indians successfully made their way into the 2016 World Series by defeating the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League Championship Series. So, in honor of this feat, fans of both the Indians, and Major League have taken to social media to request that "Wild Thing" throw the first pitch.

Sheen is all for throwing out the first pitch in this year's World Series. Now it's just a matter of waiting to see if they give him the chance. The real question, however, is if he does throw the pitch, will he wear Wild Thing's iconic thick rimmed glasses?
