Actor Don Marshall, who played Lt. Boma on the original Star Trek, has died due to natural causes.

Marshall's death was announced via his former Star Trek co-star BarBara Luna, who played Marlena Moreau in the series. She posted the following on Facebook, (via Variety).

"Dear friends and fans of Don Marshall:
It is with deep sadness and much difficulty to inform you that Don Marshall another Star Trek & Land of the Giants member has passed away at Cedars Sinai Hospital on Sunday evening October 30, 2016 at approximately 8:PM . Don transitioned peacefully, at his bedside were his daughter, son, and twin brother Doug Marshall. A memorial service is to be determined.
Much Love , BarBara Luna."

Marshall played the role of Lt. Boma on "The Galileo Seven" episode of Star Trek, but he also had a recurring role as Dan Erickson on Land of the Giants. He also starred in iconic shows like Dragnet, Bewitched, Good Times, The Bionic Woman, Little House on the Prairie, and The Incredible Hulk, where he popped up three different times, and each time he played a different part.

Marshall was thankful for the science fiction genre, saying: "There weren't that many jobs, guest starring jobs, for African-Americans or any minorities, really. I was very grateful to get the opportunities I got, and it made me work very hard on each part, to make sure that whatever I was doing was right and that the characters I played were very strong people. I tried to bring out the best in the person I played,"

Our thoughts go out to the Marshall family at this difficult time.
