HBO Programming President Casey Bloys has just announced that Westworld, along with Divorce and Insecure, will be returning for a second season.

"I am thrilled to announce the pickup of our three fall series, all of which have distinctive, original voices," said Bloys. "Critics and viewers alike have welcomed Westworld and Insecure, as well as the return of Sarah Jessica Parker to the network after 12 years with Divorce."

The debut season of Westworld has been a successful one for the folks over at HBO. Not only has the entire Internet been losing their minds over the mysterious happenings in Westworld, but the new series has been one of the most successful in HBO's history in terms of early ratings.

Westworld is averaging 11.7 million overall viewers each week, and that tops the network's other juggernauts Game Of Thrones and True Detective in their first seasons.

Starring Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, James Marsden, Shannon Woodward, Jeffery Wright, Clifton Collins Jr, Ed Harris, and Anthony Hopkins, Westworld takes place in a theme park in an alternate future. This theme park is run by the mysterious Dr. Ford (Hopkins) and features life-like androids called 'Hosts'.

The Hosts are on a never-ending quest to find meaning and break their cycles, while the park employees are doing everything in their power to keep control.

Westworld debuted on HBO on Oct. 2, and has seen an increased number over viewers with each episode. The latest episode, Trompe L'Oeil, was a mind-bender that captivated audiences. With many twists and turns left in the show's first season, Westworld is likely to expand its ever-growing audience.
