One thing we know about the Westworld finale for sure is that Ford's new narrative will be revealed. Through most of the season, his work has been kept mostly secret.

While we don't know what mysteries or questions will be answered in the finale, Showrunners Lisa Joy and Jonathon Nolan have already said, "Most of the questions viewers have will be resolved in the final episodes, except for the most important one: What happens next."

Hopefully the extended 90-minute episode doesn't leave fans hanging until Season 2 comes around in 2018.

However tight-lipped Ford has been on his new "project," we still picked up on some major clues as to what it might be, especially in Episode 9 "The Well-Tempered Clavier."

Location of Ford's Narrative

We know for sure what location of the park Ford has been bulldozing, digging, and blowing up as seen in the map below and it's eerily close to "where the land meets the sea" and the "city swallowed by sand."

We know that Dolores and William have wandered into the "currently under construction zone" because that is the only spot on the map that the sea meets the land, you know the place Dolores keeps remembering and drawing.

The Church

This is where it starts to get interesting. In Episode 2, Ford was seen overlooking a vast area with the little boy host. The area had an old, burnt-down church steeple sticking up out of the ground. As we got deeper into the season, this steeple started to look more and more familiar.

When Arnold started speaking to Dolores, he kept telling her to remember, and she would instantly have flashbacks to this very same church when it wasn't buried in the ground.

The church was in the first town in Westworld, named Escalante. A quaint old western town where Arnold, Ford and other Delos employees worked on perfecting the hosts before the Westworld even opened.

In Episode 9, we see Dolores finally find the church (which might be the entrance to the maze). In a crazy sequence of events, Dolores walks in and out of the church in the present timeline. We know it's the present timeline because the Man In Black (also on a mission to find the maze) greets her as she is trying to leave. There is much more to this sequence that we will get into later.

The key point is that the "city swallowed in sand" has been unearthed and rebuilt. Only one man could have done this - Ford.

Escalante

We've seen the "City Swallowed by Sand" in model form in Ford's office. This is the new narrative he's been planning and why his "earth movers" have been working overtime.

And for some reason he sent both Dolores and The Man In Black there at the same time, during the present timeline.

The "Wyatt" stoyline that was recently uploaded into Teddy's mind helped lead the Man In Black to the new Escalante.

The voices and visions in Dolores' mind led her to back to the new Escalante.

Did Ford unearth and rebuild this entire town just so these two would meet again? That remains up in the air. However, If The Man In Black really is an older version of William, that would all make perfect sense.

In Episode 9, Angela the host, who seems to be full sentient, told Teddy that he was remembering Escalante wrong. That the scene of the massacre where Arnold along with hosts, and other employees were killed by "Wyatt" in Escalante was not caused by Wyatt, but Teddy.

Our theory is that Ford's new narrative is a way of destroying the maze (which could lie underneath the church) so no hosts can achieve what Arnold wanted - full sentience.

Remember that Ford is obsessed with maintaining control, and if he somehow leads all of the generation 1 hosts to the new Escalante, he can destroy any memories they have of Arnold by destroying them.

We will soon find out when Ford's new narritive is revealed in the Westworld season finale this Sunday!

At least we know one question that will be answered in the finale! We'll know what Ford's new narrative is, no matter how terrifying it may be.

HBO officially released the synopsis for the extended 90-minute season finale that you can read below:

Ford (Anthony Hopkins) unveils his bold new narrative; Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) embraces her identity; Maeve (Thandie Newton) sets her plan in motion.
