Keira Knightley's career was launched into superstardom thanks to her role in the original Pirates of the Caribbean, and after an almost ten-year absence from its sequels, the star will return for a cameo in the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean film.

Sources close to the franchise have reported that the Oscar-nominated actress has already shot scenes for an end credits sequence in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, which will set up her character's return for that film's sequel. The fifth film in the franchise is set to land in theaters on May 26, 2017.

Her cameo appearance in the film's closing credits will put her back on screen with original co-stars Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom, which will hint at what we can expect from the upcoming sixth film. This will be the first time all three original leading actors have appeared in the franchise together since Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.

Are you excited to see Knightley return to the franchise or do you think it's time the franchise walked the plank once and for all? Let us know in the comments!
